Peter Jackson's 'Hobbit'

Tuesday, February 21, 2012 by Adrian

The long awaited and highly visual two-part film 'The Hobbit' directed by Peter Jackson is due for release this December!

As fans of The Lord of The Rings trilogy will know, the visuals within these films are mind blowing, so it's no surprise Jackson wants to keep the same level of imagery running throughout The Hobbit.

Weta Digital is the production company behind the creation of the digital effects, environment scenes, digital doubles, fantasy creatures and destruction scenes that we'll see in the film.

Weta are also the producers of the weaponry, armour and prosthetics seen within The Lord of the Rings films, spending months on end perfecting silicone rubber into the iconic faces we see throughout the trilogy.

The Hobbit is set for box office success and with the help of Weta Digital's state of the art visual-effects, it's a sure thing we won't be disappointed with another 'middle earth' based film.

In an interview, Jackson said he wants to 'avoid the overuse of green screen and keep to real locations as much as possible.' We're all for this and believe the talent behind the scenes will make this two part film pretty spectacular!
