NHS: Design and artwork of Detailed Care Records leaflets

We recently produced a series of leaflets for the NHS 'Connecting for Health' team. We were asked to come up with the design for a series of communications that detailed changes with health care records and what impact these would have for both staff and patients.

The NHS is fiercely protective of it's brand which meant our artworking team had to work within strict corporate guidelines to ensure our designs aligned to existing NHS literature. Once we had an approved design route the leaflets needed to be rolled out in six versions (three for staff, three for patients) and across multiple geographical regions. A matching series of branded factsheets and posters were also produced by Ouno.

The work had to be completed quickly, accurately and each item had to be totally 'on-brand'. It's at times like this that fast, precise artworking skills coupled to a pathological attention to detail really makes the difference. Our team immersed themselves in the brand guidelines - checking and rechecking their work against the style guides. And it all paid-off. We delivered on a series of tight deadlines without a single piece of artwork being rejected by the eagle-eyed NHS brand guardians.

It's probably fair to say that behind every great looking design job delivered on time, on budget and on spec there is an experienced and talented artworking team. It was certainly true in this case.
