First - The FIA's market leading new digital mag

Monday, February 08, 2010

The latest issue of First magazine, the highly acclaimed digital magazine for the Farnborough International Airshow moves the events publications genre to a whole new level.

Whilst issue 1 was considered ground-breaking for the industry and received great praise indeed, at Ouno Creative we were determined that we could improve the product further and produce a magazine that was even more intuitive to the user and served as an easy-to-use and enthralling read for the trade exhibitor and trade visitor alike. Utilising advanced interactivity, acclaimed aerospace journalists, photographers and making the most of video-interviews and animation... issue 2 of First really has raised the bar.

UAVspreadThe page count has increased too as the title has found it's feet, with the latest issue being a whopping 22 pages, with some pages packing the equivalent content of 10 'printed' pages within just one spread.

First has been a very passionate project for all involved at Ouno as it was conceived by our directors as being a great idea. They pitched the concept to the Farnborough International Board in July 2009.

"We had been steadily building our digital publishing expertise working on smaller projects for a number of clients in the publishing and corporate sectors. What we were looking for was an opportunity to really demonstrate the benefits of this medium." says Simon Pipe, co-director of Ouno Creative. "Farnborough Airshow gave us a huge canvas and a great subject matter to work with."

The Ouno team were responsible for the entire production process including research, writing and design through to the creation of audio/video content, infographics and 3D animations.

FIA_COV2"The great thing about an e-mag is that it can tell a story in a way that printed publications simply cannot." says Ouno co-director Adrian Broadway.

The Ouno team worked closely with Marketing Director Philippa Ewart and her team to develop a product that would act as a genuinely new and innovative marketing and sales tool - the first of it's kind in this market sector.

By distributing FIRST magazine online FIA are able to send out as many copies as they require without the cost associated with print.
