40 years of Smiley Culture

Friday, June 17, 2011

One of the world's most iconic brands recently called on our services to produce a VIP pack in celebration of the Smiley brand's 40th birthday.

40 years ago on October 1st 1971, the Smiley logo was registered as a trademark by Franklin Loufrani. Smiley began as a way to spread good news to the world. Smiley has marveled through the decades and influenced many movements; promoting happy values, fun, musical expression, peace, positive vibes and a simple message; 'I'm happy'. Through the global phenomena of the internet and advanced communication, the Smiley became adopted by the masses as the universal tool for expressing happiness, the emoticon. :)

We produced a large branded fim tin with a prominent full size logo proudly displayed on the front. Inside we set a lovely hard cover die-cut book into a foam liner. Also included was a special commemorative poster which was a reproduction of Smiley's press debut in the January 1st 1972 "France Soir" highlighing good news to make people think positive.
